QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

The QC Manager is responsible for the effective planning of quality control inspections and processes and resource management required to successfully support our customers. Responsible for the continued growth of technical inspection practices and process improvement within the department.  The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the positive and proactive leadership and supervision of all team members in a continuous improvement environment.

 Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvement and improved working relationships.

Education/Experience:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to develop professional working relationships; ability to communicate well with customer representatives and staff members.

MACHINE SHOP FOREMAN

The Working Machine Shop Foreman works within the department and alongside team members in the Machine Shop and Finishing Department to ensure maximum operational success. Responsible for reviewing and interpreting customer or internal part drawings to develop CNC programs and plan the set-up of advanced machining equipment. Responsible for determining the best available methods to fabricate and machine parts or assemblies by developing the most efficient programs and set ups for all CNC equipment.  Serves as a primary resource for department and is the key communication link to production management.

 Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promote and adhere to the Core Values and Behavior Code.

  • Demonstrate capacity to perform all duties and responsibilities of team members in assigned production departments. Works with and alongside all team members.

  • Responsible for the programming of all machines utilizing MasterCam or equivalent software, including the development and prove out of all programs.

  • Observe machine trial runs/conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications.

  • Plan, create, verify and revise program data and documentations to enhance efficiency. Develop and maintain database of all programs.

  • Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data in order to calculate part dimension compatibility with machines, tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates.

  • Develop and guide the integration of new machining techniques that reduce setup and run times.

  • Recommend and prepare layout and installation plans for all CNC equipment.

  • Analyze RFQ instructions, detailed specifications and other customer supplied documentation to prepare time estimates for machined parts.

  • Assess tooling, material costs and labor required for all phases of the project.

  • Support the manufacturing team and assist with the resolution of production machining issues involving processes which affect the overall production operation to maximize efficiency.

  • Verify completed work, check dimensions/tolerances, and maintain accuracy of drawings and programs.

  • Possess a functional knowledge of overall company operations and assigned department(s) role within that operation.

  • Assist production management by overseeing team members, scheduling and monitoring work assignments, and setting priorities.

  • Direct effective utilization of staff and equipment to maximize output while maintaining costs, including recommending staffing needs.

  • Conduct efficient team meetings and work with other departments to facilitate materials and work order flow.

  • Responsible and accountable for the team’s quality of product or department work and on-time delivery to meet schedules as needed.

  • Support production management with employee activities including, but not limited to, evaluations, discipline, and PTO.

  • Manage the flow of materials to, from and within the department, including keeping inventory.

  • Responsible for following company procedures to open/close buildings and start/shut down equipment on a daily basis.

  • Perform equipment and tooling checks as required, ensuring preventative maintenance measures are taken.

  • Assist in developing and coordination of the training process for team members including new employee training.

  • Ability to independently manage and direct team ensuring adherence to schedule and tasks without continuous supervision.

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.

MACHINIST

The Machinist is responsible for the programming, set-up and operation of all CNC machines utilized within the company to produce precision parts.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promote and adhere to the Core Values and Behavior Code.

  • Demonstrate exceptional ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications and apply to machining process.

  • Exhibit proven knowledge to set-up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts including part holding and fixturing.

  • Select tools and materials for the job; plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations.

  • Determine beginning speed and feed for each work piece and job. Make adjustments as required to achieve dimensions and finish as specified.

  • Possess an excellent knowledge of quality and inspection requirements, manufacturing processes and measurement techniques.

  • Assist with the resolution of production issues involving machining which affect the overall production operation as needed.

  • Responsible for performing routine operational checks of mechanical equipment and machinery.

  • Access needs and make recommendations to management, for machining related equipment, tooling and fixturing. Maintain tool inventory and Complete PGR with necessary information to complete purchases.

  • Follow proper material control procedures and record keeping.

  • Measure and document dimensions during machining process and after completion.

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment including overhead cranes and forklifts.

  • Responsible for achieving good speed of execution while maintaining quality workmanship in a wide range of machining activities.

  • Maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly condition.

  • Demonstrate and promote teamwork and cooperation with team members at all levels in the organization on time saving initiatives and lean processes.

INDUSTRIAL PAINTER

The Painter performs work under general supervision and in accordance with engineering standards and standard shop manufacturing, safety and housekeeping practices. The Painter will set up paint jobs from start to finish which includes washing, masking, blasting and painting, to ensure all paint finishes meet or exceed customer requirements and that all hazardous materials are handled properly.  The painter will also perform a variety of tasks and functions to assist the production department.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promote and adhere to the Core Values and Behavior Code.

  • Prepare units for painting by cleaning, sand blasting, sanding surfaces and masking as specified.

  •  Paint surfaces of metal parts using spray painting equipment adhering to specific surface preparation and painting techniques.

  • Apply a variety of coatings including enamels, epoxies, urethanes and military coatings from various paint manufacturers.

  • Mix paint precisely to manufacturer and customer specifications.

  • Remove inconsistencies or imperfections using grinders, hand tools and sanders.

  • Grinds, chips or brushes off excess weld, splatter and rust.

  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and specifications regarding paint requirements.

  • Inspect parts using and interpreting inspection equipment, such as anchor profile gages, dry film thickness gages to verify finish requirements are met.

  • Accurately document and record all required data needed to comply with each specification.

  • Operate spray booth, oven and ventilation system per specific instructions.

  • Remove inconsistencies or imperfections using grinders, hand tools and sanders.

  • Grinds, chips or brushes off excess weld, splatter and rust.

  • Stage and move parts within the paint area using a forklift, hand truck, hoist or crane.

  • Responsible for achieving good speed of execution while maintaining quality workmanship in a wide range of fitting activities.

  • Maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly condition.

  • Promote company goals with a focus on Safety, Quality, and Production.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WELDER 1ST CLASS

We are looking for a skilled Welder 1st Class to cut and join metals and other materials at our facility. Welders operate appropriate equipment to assemble parts with a great deal of precision. A welder must be competent in using various types of equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand, great attention to detail and knowledge of the different welding processes. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Capable of setting up and operating semiautomatic and fully automatic welding equipment.

  • Ability to weld in various positions (vertical, horizontal and overhead).

  • Experience reading, understanding and adhering to established weld procedures.

  • Possess military qualifications in four of five welding processes; SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW AND GTAW.

  • Skilled in carbon arc cutting.

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.

  • Ability to inspect welded surfaces to ensure welds meet the minimum size and appearance requirements.

  • Follow proper material control procedures and record keeping.

  • Perform basic and preventative maintenance on welding equipment.

  • Maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly condition.
